All the info on the new site is there … I had wanted to make my own layout and finish it before starting content on there but then I decided I wanted to start putting content on (more for my own documenting purposes…) sooooo here it is, check it out if you wish :) Make sure to look again when the new layout is live (whenever it may be, but if you Google Reader the site you’ll know! haha)
I have blog ADD.
I just dug up my old very short lived blog. And then there was the good ol Roaring 20 Somethings site which I thought was a lot of fun and I miss. I’ve also had a couple of websites back in hs where I actually bought domain names and hosting.
Well I’ve come full circle and have as of today bought a domain and hosting because I’ve decided I wanna document my life, findings, pictures better all in my own way with no restrictions. I’m pretty sure I don’t have enough time for this but damnit I’m gonna make it work.
Stay tuned :D
Currently watching this… haven’t gotten through the whole thing, yet, but I will. My life goal is to depend as little as possible on medicine and be healthy, energetic, and happy primarily through diet and exercise. It really is the best medicine :)
Corn, onions, chickpeas sauteed in a little oil and butter. Decided I needed more butter so I added cilantro (curiously I have developed a liking for cilantro), chives, and red pepper. It was good and satisfying :)
Turning yogurt into Greek yogurt! Mush use a very fine mesh strainer. This one is the oxo one and it works!
The “Caesar” salad dressing that changed my life :o) featured in a creamy cucumber salad: dressing, sliced cucumbers, green onions, and a dash of cayenne for heat. Yum :D

it’s been one year
actually, just over a year since I started this blog. Boy has time passed quickly, but it’s been so fun scrolling through this blog and seeing the day I gave myself crap for overindulging in goldfish (funny I didn’t realize this until now but I think my 26 year addiction to goldfish has been cured. I used to crave them regularly but I haven’t for months!), reflections on why I run (“part one”… yeah, part two never happened… yet..? stay tuned! ;)), falling in love with kettlebells (still love ‘em and in fact started my day with a kettlebell workout just this morning! :)), finishing the triple crown, discovering I could do real on-my-toes pushups (funny can’t believe it’s been a year… I still get scared I’m gonna “lose” it and get excited when I can still do one.. haha!), when I thought I had figured out how to make this “lifestyle change” (I’ve since made so much progress here), getting my favorite piercings (they’re little and a bit hidden but I love them and I got them to remind myself of all the positive changes I made and goals I reached last year), my first batches of kale chips and massaged kale salad and so much more…
Can’t wait to see what I come up with next :) I also just sent this blog to my mom so I hope she’s reading right now. Hi mom!
epic salad.
Apparently you can grill lettuce:
Apparently it is possible to make “caesar” dressing using yogurt as a base:
(plain yogurt + a little minced anchovies + a little dijon mustard + a minced garlic clove + parmesan cheese. I then threw in chives because I had them but I don’t think they really did a whole lot and I wasn’t intending on adding them in the first place. I also used my own homemade yogurt which I *think* is a little less tart than store bought.. just an fyi so with store bought yogurt it might be a little tart. This one was not overly tart, probably also because I left out lemon juice which is commonly in caesar dressing recipes.)
Apparently combining the above two with some shrimp (seasoned with a little old bay seasoning and cayenne pepper) creates an EPIC salad… best one I’ve had in awhile:
….. apparently I *do* like my salad drenched with dressing if the dressing is homemade and healthy :D
Mmmmm yummy charbroiled smoky flavor with a refreshing crunch (from the inside pieces of the lettuce) and creamy savory dressing and shrimp. It’s a must try!
Oh and I can’t take a ton of credit for this, inspiration for this meal was found here at Fitnessista.
Visited the parents this weekend and mom has a dehydrator so i made “cheesy” (“cheese” flavor provided by nutritional yeast) dehydrator kale chips. They were a total hit with the whole fam and i have been munching on them no stop all day at work :D
